Research Summary

Trends and patterns of development of African countries (Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria, Ethiopia, Morocco), which were identified according to the results of the research:
- Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria, Ethiopia and Morocco account for 58% of GDP, 42% of the population and 54% of the African continent's imports
- Ethiopia's economy is growing significantly faster than the growth rates of other countries in 2019-2023; Egypt, Algeria and Morocco are developing gradually; South Africa and Nigeria are experiencing a decline
- From 2021 to 2023, more than 69% of imports to priority African countries are from South Africa, Egypt and Morocco; machinery and equipment, mineral products, agricultural products are the most in demand goods
- About 58% of global exports to Africa account for the top 12 countries, China is the leader among them; exports from Russia increased by 2.6% in 2019-2023%
- Russia's trade relations are best developed with Egypt, Morocco and Algeria (more than 88% of exports to priority African countries); agricultural and mineral products form the basis of exports from the Russian Federation
- Russian mineral products and agricultural products are the most competitive; of other demanded goods, Russia does not stand up to competition in the export of high-grade products and metals
- In the future, in 2028, the GDP and population of African countries are expected to grow rapidly by stimulating investments in science, technology and infrastructure; at the same time, relations with Russia will deepen
