Russia continues to actively develop ESG initiatives despite the challenging macroeconomic and geopolitical environment. In 2023, special attention was paid to the management of greenhouse gas emissions, waste, and the development of green finance. Important changes include legislative initiatives to monitor emissions, create registers for waste utilisation and expand the use of green financial instruments at the federal and regional levels.China ESG News
China continues to actively develop tools to achieve sustainable development with the goal of carbon neutrality by 2060. In 2023, the country has emphasised greenhouse gas emission management, the introduction of green financial instruments and international ESG standards. At the same time, China focused on renewable energy projects and expanding green finance, concluding important international agreements and financing projects to reduce carbon emissions.Kazakhstan ESG news
Kazakhstan is promoting the development of ESG agenda within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Central Asia, with a particular focus on cooperation with international investment banks. In 2023, Kazakhstan adopted a strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The country is also actively promoting initiatives under the SCO chairmanship. The country is strengthening its partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and other financial institutions to support green projects and stimulate sustainable economic development.
