Background
Developing welding equipment sphere stagnation within a context of the growing market and the production development in different European and North American countries, also, developing countries in Asia made it necessary to develop a strategy for welding equipment development industry, to adapt current supporting measures to the industry and to create new supporting measures for the segment

Solution
SBS Consulting team undertook a complex study on the following tasks: • Domestic and foreign developers welding equipment dynamics analysis; • Modern welding technology analysis, key welding developing trend identification; • Russian and foreign welding equipment practices analysis, including demand and choosing factors identification, on the largest Russian enterprises in the following sectors: energy, metalworking, shipbuilding, aircraft, building; • Russian and foreign welding equipment practices analysis, including demand and choosing factors identification, of small and medium-sized enterprises; • State supporting measures in Russian welding industry and the international practices supporting measures analysis. Several dozen enterprises, research institutes, design bureaus and universities, specialized on creating and developing welding equipment and technology, have been interviewed during the project. SBS Consulting team have identified the welding equipment market, the leading development and intellectual welding centers have been identified, the list of recommendations and suggestions focused on improving current State welding industry supporting measures and implementing new measures (including encouraging industrial clusters) up to 2025 year have been drafted.
