Background
In line with the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin’s instruction of 8 September 2017 №1776 as a result of the meeting “On measures for the development of light industry of the Russian Federation” conducted on 24 August 2017, development of the flax industry in the Russian Federation became one of the priorities for the integrated development of light industry. In order to complete the task, Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation devised a development Strategy of the flax industry of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025.

Solution
Within the context of this Project SBS Consulting’s team assessed the current state of the flax industry of the Russian Federation in terms of agricultural complex and textile industry, examined international experience of the flax industry development and devised a model for developing the flax industry of the Russian Federation.

Results
As a result of the Project, SBS Consulting’s team provided a report about the current state of the flax industry in Russia, provided an outlook for the future development of the flax industry in Russia and devised a development model for Russia’s flax industry on the global flax market.
