• Client

    Major retailer

  • Background

The client's pricing process is only partially automated: some of the edits are made manually by managers. This work takes a long time, and its effectiveness is unknown. The client wants to completely eliminate manual adjustments.

  • Solution

We conducted a diagnostic of the pricing system and found that manual edits contradict the values of the retail chain and negatively affect the turnover. We found out that it is impossible to completely abandon the participation of managers in the pricing process, since it is necessary to adjust the rules of automatic pricing and price control. We have identified scenarios in which it is possible to refuse the participation of managers. They proposed the necessary adjustments to the rules and algorithms of pricing for rejection.

  • Results

We evaluated the effect of manual adjustments. We proposed a ban on manual price adjustments for goods that are not in the top, and adjustments that contradict the strategy. The role of managers has changed: moving away from manual price adjustments and switching to controlling automatic changes and changes in pricing rules. Recommendations for adjusting the rules and algorithms of pricing have been formalized. And we automated the process of current price changes.
